Covered Topics Include: 

- What the board expects from the executive, and what executives should expect from the board

- Helping board members understand their jobs: planning, policy-making, delegating, etc.

- Building the board into a team and recruiting quality board members

- Communicating effectively with board members, and keeping them better informed.

- Dealing with problem board members

During lunch, we will cover:

- The board chair’s job description as servant/leader

- Conducting productive board meetings


Dan Cain is a board development specialist who has been publishing training materials for non-profit and government organizations since 1990. He is one of the top association management experts in the United States, and publishes dozens of resources for association professionals nationwide.

Dan’s workshop includes a working lunch where he invites association executives to bring along their board presidents to participate in the discussion.
